A New Season for the Rathbun Family

Spring has sprung a little early here in the Northeast but it's not just the great outdoors that is changing...After living in Connecticut for 12+ years, we are moving. Today Luke gave his official resignation and in about three weeks we will pack up all of our earthly belongings into a moving truck and head "south".

A new job calls us to Pittsburgh, PA. But more than a new job, the opportunity to live in close proximity to some of my immediate family and friends whom we have missed since our college days is a blessing that means a great deal to me. Don't get me wrong, we will miss our home, the family who has accepted me and loved me unconditionally since I married into it, and the friends who have brought extra measures of love, support, and joy to our lives. I can't even tell you how much we will miss everyone!

We have put our house on the market and are praying earnestly that someone out there will see it and love it as much as we have for these 8 years. Until it sells, we will live with my parents whom I know are over the moon about the fact that we are bringing some of their grandchildren to be close to them (though I am sure they don't want us to be that close for that long and are praying just as earnestly for the sale of our house as we are).

So, I don't want to be too optimistic here, but I do intend to use this blog to keep all those we are leaving behind up to date on everything that goes on in our new life in the 'Burgh.

Stay tuned...
